First Impressions: Arrival at Burj Al Arab

As soon as I arrived at the Burj Al Arab, I was amazed by the luxury cars all around me. There were Rolls-Royces and Range Rovers everywhere! My tiny rental car, a Fiat Punto, looked so out of place, but that didn’t matter. The staff welcomed me like I was royalty. They even parked my car for me. I was handed a cold towel, which was supposed to be hot, but it still smelled amazing. The check-in process was a bit longer than usual—about 15 minutes—but I didn’t mind because I was already in awe of my surroundings.

Exploring the Suite: A Two-Level Paradise

The suite I stayed in was massive, and it was split into two levels. It had everything I could have asked for, and more. On the first floor, there was a small toilet for guests, which even had golden fixtures! Everything in the room seemed to be covered in real gold. There was a big desk, complete with a MacBook Pro to use (but not to keep!). I also found a fancy pen and notebook, which made me feel like I was in an office for the rich and famous.

The minibar was stocked with complimentary snacks, drinks! I received a welcome note from the hotel manager, and there were some small snacks waiting for me. I tried one, thinking it was a dessert, but it turned out to be a savory, nutty snack. I even tasted caviar for the first time! There was so much food that I didn’t even know where to start.

Living Room and Amazing Views

The living room area was spacious and beautifully decorated. There were comfy couches, a huge TV, and golden accents everywhere. I had an incredible view of downtown Dubai and the Persian Gulf from the windows. The view was so breathtaking that I had to sit down just to take it all in. The curtains could be controlled with a remote, which made me feel like I was living in the future!

Heading Upstairs: Bedroom and Bathroom

I headed up the stairs, which were lit up with lights and decorated with a huge chandelier. There was a room on the right for doing makeup, complete with a vanity mirror, a golden hairdryer, and even a shoehorn! On the left was the bathroom, which was just as fancy as the rest of the suite. It had golden taps, embroidered towels, and a massive Jacuzzi bathtub. The shower was so big that it could easily fit five people! There were lots of fancy toiletries, like expensive perfumes and skincare products. The attention to detail was incredible—even the hangers were branded with the Burj Al Arab logo.

The bedroom itself was luxurious, with a huge bed that had a mirror above it. The pillows were soft, but I had the option to ask for different types of pillows. The bed was the comfiest I had ever slept on, and I couldn’t wait to get a good night’s sleep. There was even a TV hidden inside the foot of the bed, which could be controlled with a button to pop up.

Pool Time: Infinity Pool and Relaxation

After exploring my room, it was time to check out the pool area. The hotel has two pools—an indoor pool and an outdoor infinity pool that looks out over the Arabian Gulf. The infinity pool was my favorite because it looked like the water stretched out forever, blending with the ocean. There were sunbeds all around, and I could choose whichever one I wanted—all complimentary. The staff brought around chilled water and even offered sunscreen, which was really handy since I forgot mine.

The pool area was so beautiful, with amazing views of the ocean and Dubai’s skyline. I spent hours just relaxing, taking in the view, and feeling like I was in paradise.

Dining Experience: From Lobster Rolls to Room Service

For lunch, I decided to try the lobster roll from the poolside restaurant. It came with fries and some mini bottles of ketchup and mayonnaise. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed it by the pool, soaking in the sun. Later, for dinner, there was an option to eat at a Michelin-star restaurant in the hotel, but it was quite expensive. Instead, I opted for something simpler at the buffet-style restaurant, which had a variety of delicious options.

For breakfast the next morning, I decided to try the in-room dining experience. I had poached eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, and toast. The food was tasty, but by the time it arrived, it was a bit cold. Even so, it felt so luxurious to eat breakfast in my room while enjoying the incredible view.

Is It Worth It?

The Burj Al Arab is often called a seven-star hotel, but it’s actually officially a five-star hotel—just at the very top of its class. My stay cost me 1,500 pounds for one night, which is definitely not cheap. But for that price, I had a private butler, happy hour drinks in my room, and access to all the facilities. The staff were so attentive, and they made sure I had everything I needed during my stay.

Was it worth it? Honestly, it was an amazing experience. The room was beautiful, the pool was stunning, and the service was outstanding. However, there were a few things that could have been better. The telephones in the room looked cheap and out of place, and the pillows weren’t as firm as I would have liked. Despite these minor issues, it was an unforgettable experience, and I’m glad I got to stay there at least once in my life.

How to Book a Room at Burj Al Arab

Cost of Staying at Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab is often known as one of the most expensive hotels in the world, and staying here certainly comes at a high cost. A one-night stay can cost anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 pounds or more, depending on the time of year and the type of suite you choose. The prices can go even higher for premium suites, especially those with added luxury services or better views. It’s important to remember that the cost includes access to a private butler, luxurious amenities, and all the other perks that come with staying in one of the most exclusive hotels in the world.
